Biratnagar is a metropolitan city in southeastern Nepal, located in the Province No. 1. It is the second-largest city in Nepal after the capital city of Kathmandu and is an important commercial and industrial hub in the region.
Biratnagar is situated on the border with India, and is connected to major Indian cities such as Kolkata and Patna by road and air. The city has a diverse population, with people from various ethnic groups and religions living together. Nepali is the official language, but Hindi and English are also widely spoken.
The city has a number of important landmarks and attractions, including the Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve, a protected area famous for its diverse birdlife and other wildlife such as tigers, rhinos, and elephants. The Biratnagar Jute Mills, one of the oldest and largest jute mills in Nepal, is also located in the city, and is a major source of employment.
Other places of interest in Biratnagar include the Dantakali Temple, a popular Hindu shrine, the Shree Antu Danda, a scenic hill station that offers panoramic views of the Kanchenjunga mountain range, and the Haat Bazaar, a bustling local market where visitors can shop for local handicrafts and goods.
Biratnagar is also a gateway to other popular destinations in Nepal, such as the nearby cities of Dharan and Itahari, as well as the Koshi, Sagarmatha (Everest), and Makalu-Barun National Parks.
