El Rastro is Madrid’s most famous open-air flea market, held every Sunday and public holiday in the La Latina neighborhood.  Steeped in history and local culture, El Rastro stretches through the Ribera de Curtidores and surrounding streets, offering an eclectic mix of goods — from antiques, vintage clothing and second-hand books to unique collectibles and handcrafted items.
Wandering through El Rastro is as much about the atmosphere as the shopping.  Street performers, bustling tapas bars and the chatter of vendors and visitors create a lively, authentically Madrileño experience.  It’s a beloved tradition for both locals and tourists, blending the spirit of the old city with a modern flair.
