Torre de Pisa - Luminarie de Cagna
Here, this symbol of Italy is a wooden construction, 20 metres tall, featuring thousands of coloured LEDs. And of course it's leaning… so you can pose for the traditional photo in front of the tower, either pretending to hold it up or push it down!
Luminarie De Cagna is an Italian family business founded in 1930. Back then, on festive occasions, the company illuminated buildings and squares with oil and carbide lamps. This was quickly switched to electric lights, and since 2006 only LEDs are used for new projects. The lights are joined to make large curtains of light, which are placed onto buildings or spread out on other objects in the area. In this way, whole streets and even squares are full of light.

Mr Beam – Welcome Mapping
A colourful and artistic video projection will bring the only classical building in the festival location to life. This is situated at the corner of Akenkaai and Leopold II boulevard. The colourful and artistic mapping covers both facades of the corner building. The dancing, rotating installation will give the audience a warm welcome. This feature will also attract plenty of passers-by to the light festival, as the projection will be visible from a long way off, at the central traffic axis of the Leopold II boulevard.
Mr. Beam is a Dutch animation team and is regarded as the leading European mapping specialist. They are well known for their projection shows which make detailed use of the existing architecture, right down to the smallest detail, and already have many projects to their credit.
Mr. Beam believes that every object or building can become expressive or tell a story when it is tackled creatively.
Tesla Coil Fight - Lords of Lightning
Who are those two mysterious beings clad in metal costumes? Out of the darkness, the lightning strikes two towers. The creatures climb up the towers and discover they can use their hands and heads to direct the lightning bolts at each other. A spectacular and fascinating lightning battle will take place right before your eyes, between red and blue, good and evil, with dazzling bolts of lightning.
These two English performers allow no less than four million volts to flow through their bodies. However, safety always comes first, in keeping with the Tesla principle. A unique show which has already given plenty of audience members at other festivals goose bumps.
CanaLazer - Arf & Yes
This is a Belgian, custom-made installation for the event. An impressive laser installation will span the port’s main artery, the Brussels-Charleroi canal. Four coloured laser beams will float on the water and be absorbed by a tall apartment building.
In so doing, Arf & Yes are putting the urban renewal of abandoned spaces and buildings in the spotlight. Powerful laser beams will illuminate the canal’s dark water and attract the public’s attention.
Arf & Yes is a company which specialises in sets & lighting for TV, fashion shows and concerts. With over 20 years of international experience, they have developed their own unique style and know-how, and every concept is implemented as realistically as possible.
Dancing House - Klaus Obermaier
In this age of social media, the expectations of the younger generation have changed when it comes to art, particularly art in public spaces. The interactive “Dancing House” projection will draw you right into the animation. Jump, dance, sway and move and the “Dancing House” light installation on the Brussels port building will dance along with you. It transforms you from a passive onlooker into an active participant!

A warm campfire will create a cosy, welcoming atmosphere.
Skeleton Dance - Skullmapping
Along the Peniches quay, the street will break open to reveal the underworld to the public. An unpleasant discovery, as there are gruesome skeletons under the paving stones… But what starts out as a nightmare takes an unexpected turn and even has a romantic ending...
Skull mapping is a unique form of street mapping. By projecting onto the road surface instead of the usual projection onto a building, it is possible to create a 3D illusion which gives the animation another dimension for the onlookers. Antoon Verbeeck, Aitor Biedma & Filip Sterckx have combined their ideas and artistic skills to create unique experiences which will remain forever etched in the memory of the audience.
