The Gobi Desert, stretching across northern China and southern Mongolia, is a harsh environment where extreme conditions often lead to animal deaths. With searing hot summers, freezing winters and limited water sources, animals frequently face dehydration, starvation and temperature-related stress.
Wildlife like the wild Bactrian camel and gazelles must constantly search for food and water, often falling victim to the desert’s unforgiving nature. Predators such as snow leopards and wolves also play a role in the death of smaller animals. Human activity, including livestock farming and mining, further disrupts habitats, making survival even more difficult.
Despite these challenges, the Gobi is home to uniquely resilient species that have adapted to thrive in this tough, unforgiving landscape.
