The Monument of the Mongol States is a striking memorial situated in Kharkhorin, near the ruins of ancient Karakorum, once the capital of the Mongol Empire under Genghis Khan and his successors.  This circular monument celebrates the rich and powerful legacy of the various Mongol states that emerged over centuries — from the time of the Hunnu Empire to the Great Mongol Empire and beyond.
The structure features stone columns engraved with the names and symbols of historic Mongol khanates and kingdoms.  At its center stands a powerful bronze statue of a rider on horseback, symbolizing Mongol unity, strength and nomadic heritage.
Set against the vast Mongolian steppe, the monument offers both historical insight and a sense of national pride, making it a meaningful stop for visitors exploring the heart of Mongolia’s imperial past.
