Bruinisse is a small village in the southwestern part of the Netherlands, located on the island of Schouwen-Duiveland in the province of Zeeland. It is situated on the shores of the Grevelingenmeer, a large saltwater lake that was created after the closure of the Brouwersdam in 1971.
Bruinisse is known for its fishing industry, particularly the cultivation of mussels and oysters. The village has a busy harbor where fishing boats and pleasure boats come and go. The village also has a small marina and a beach, making it a popular destination for water sports enthusiasts.
In addition to its fishing industry, Bruinisse also has several restaurants and cafes that serve seafood dishes made with fresh local ingredients. The village is also home to a number of historic buildings, including a 15th-century church and several old windmills.
