Dochula is a mountain pass located in the Himalayan range in Bhutan, a small country in South Asia. The pass is situated at an altitude of 3,100 meters (10,171 feet) above sea level and is known for its stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
Dochula is a popular tourist destination and is particularly famous for its 108 chortens or stupas, which were built to honor Bhutanese soldiers who were killed in a military operation in 2003. The chortens are an important symbol of Bhutanese culture and religion and are a striking sight against the mountain backdrop.
In addition to the chortens, Dochula also offers panoramic views of the snow-capped Himalayan mountains, including Gangkhar Puensum, the highest peak in Bhutan. Visitors can also enjoy hiking, picnicking, and taking in the natural beauty of the area.
Dochula is located on the road between the capital city of Thimphu and the city of Punakha, making it a popular stop for those traveling between the two destinations. It is also a popular location for festivals and other cultural events throughout the year.
