Located in the Gobi Desert, Mongolia’s Flaming Cliffs (Bayanzag) are famous for their red sandstone formations, breathtaking sunsets and world-renowned dinosaur fossils. Named for their fiery glow at dusk, these cliffs hold a rich history of paleontological discoveries.
In 1923, explorer Roy Chapman Andrews uncovered the first-known dinosaur eggs, along with fossils of Velociraptors and Protoceratops.
The cliffs turn brilliant shades of red and orange as the sun sets over the desert.
